THE HOUSE. THE PEOPLE. THE WEEK AHEAD.

SIL shift management with the house in view.

Bring house records, residents, assigned workers and shared shifts together. See the week's support and unfilled work, then review the arrangements behind each ratio shift.

01

Start with the people living in the house

Add a SIL house, record its location and bedroom count, and link each participant through their own record. The house page shows active residents, the current week's shifts, support hours and unfilled work. A bedroom count helps describe the house; it does not establish an approved support arrangement.

  1. Open SIL houses and add the house details.
  2. Link the correct active residents to the house.
  3. Open House roster to see shifts grouped around that location.
02

Record the ratio and check who the shift covers

A group shift records the staff-to-participant ratio and its linked participants. For example, a recorded 1:2 shift represents one staff member supporting two participants; it does not independently decide that this ratio meets either person's needs. House shifts attach active residents when prepared, so review the participant list and allocation when people or arrangements change.

  1. Check the house, participants, worker and support item on the shift.
  2. Enter the ratio that matches the agreed arrangement.
  3. Review allocations and the source plans before treating an estimate as a charge.
03

Spot gaps before the week starts

Use the Unfilled count and the week's shift list to find work that still needs a worker. Check availability and the roster conflict results when making assignments. A recorded shift and a staffing ratio are planning information: the provider still needs to confirm suitable coverage, worker capability and continuity arrangements.

Understand roster checks and warnings

04

Keep the house view connected to individual records

Residents retain their own participant records, plans and case notes. Staff access follows their organisation role and participant assignments. Use those records for individual preferences and support instructions rather than treating a shared house record as everyone's care plan.
